Thank you for your interest in 500 For Life. We appreciate your interest in our efforts to help save the lives of fire victims and firefighters by providing thermal imagers to fire departments that do not have the available funding to purchase them on their own.
500 For Life has partnered with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company's Heritage Program and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to qualify and prioritize fire departments in need of these thermal imagers based on criteria including, but not limited to, the number of fires fought each year and the amount of funding available from other sources. This ensures that fire departments that need them the most and can afford them the least are the first to receive them.
Periodically, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), along with Fireman's Fund, will send out a Request for Proposal (RFP) to Fire Departments in the United States (and its territories). Fire departments that complete the RFP and return it prior to the stated deadline are eligible and are ranked based upon need and other criteria utilized by the review committee.
Grant awards are then made by the NFFF and Fireman's Fund or by 500 For Life.
Recently, 500 For Life provided over thirty-five thermal imagers (valued at $13,000 each) to many different fire departments around the country (these were in addition to fourteen that were awarded by the NFFF and Fireman's Fund). We expect to award more in the near future. All of these recipients were identified from grant requests received during our last round of proposals.
We will be soliciting another round of proposals from fire departments sometime in the future. We will include your department in this next solicitation, but, it is extremely important that you complete the Request for Proposal and return it prior to the stated deadline in order to be considered for a grant award during the next round.
To help us make sure that you receive a Request for Proposal, please complete the form below. You may also print a copy of the form (WORD format or PDF) and fax it to 404-252-4277.
